Ruffed Grouse Lodge and Timberdoodle grounds are bounded on the south by a private shoreline on the 351-acre Wilson Lake, which is connected to the extensive 1200-acre Phillips’ Chain of Lakes. A downstairs door leads directly to the lake and guest dock. There is a private sandy swimming beach, a swim raft, a fire pit and a fish cleaning station. Organic gardens abound at Ruffed Grouse Lodge and guests are invited to pick fresh vegetables and raspberries. Chickens free range on the grounds and children delight in gathering eggs from the nests in the coop.

Ruffed Grouse Lodge is located in Elk Township, a convenient three miles from Phillips town center. Elk is in the heart of Price County, the Ruffed Grouse Capital of the World, and is in the center of Wisconsin’s Northwoods with over 1.2 million acres of huntable land. It has the largest Ruffed Grouse and Woodcock population in the nation. Hunters return with their dogs every fall to pursue the elusive “Winged Dynamite.” |
